The NBA 2K League is making its grand entrance. Last week, the eLeague announced the first stage of qualifying will begin in January. The league plans to have a draft in March to stock 17 teams whose inaugural season begins in May.

The league also unveiled its logo Monday.

According to a press release from the NBA, the logo was crafted to match the red and blue colors of the NBA logo with the same font as the NBA 2K logo. While Jerry West became iconic as the man behind the NBA crest, the NBA 2K League did not use a silhouette, "which speaks to the inclusive nature of the league and the opportunity for any type of player to try out."

Males and females, young and old, from all over the world, are expected to be part of the league.

A basketball was included in the logo to represent the "common thread between all NBA 2K players." The 17 teams will unveil their logos later this week, and all NBA 2K League logos were designed by branding agency RARE Design, based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
