Denver South High School girls basketball coach Wayne McDonald was one of the first people in Greater Denver to become severely ill with COVID-19. After doctors saved his life, the team wanted to pay that effort forward by impacting lives of others.

His players decided their cause would be helping The Delores Project, an organization that provides shelter and services for unaccompanied women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness. When the folks at Western Union learned about the team's inspiring initiative, they arranged a surprise from Denver Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
