Will Barton Trevor Ariza

Will Barton got hyped by a Joffrey Lauvergne two-handed slam. The dunk put the Nuggets ahead of the Rockets, 108-93, with under five minutes to play Monday night. Barton was so pumped he took Trevor Ariza's sneaker and tossed it toward the sideline.

Barton looks stunned when he is called for a technical foul with body language that seems to scream, "If J.R. Smith can untie shoes, why can't I do that?" Adding insult to injury, an angry Ariza confronts Barton and the two have to be separated.

Ariza is a 30-year-old, 12-year NBA veteran and Barton is a 24-year-old mischievous fourth-year player.

Barton doesn't have much of an argument, but it's funny nonetheless.

The Nuggets held off a late rally by the Rockets to win, 114-108.

Also, Barton had this sick dunk earlier (after slipping past Ariza), so his night was not all about the shoe:
