If you thought the $180 LeBron X shoe was expensive, wait until you hear about LeBron James' new watch.

The four-time NBA MVP recently teamed up with Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet to design a $51,500 limited edition watch. The timepiece is called the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, and it comes with an 18-karat pink gold case, black ceramic and diamond set push pieces, and a hand-stitched gray crocodile strap. James' signature is printed in blue on the sapphire crystal in the back of the watch

Six hundred of the watches went on sale at the end of September, and some of the proceeds will go to charity.

"Anytime I do anything or have a partnership with anyone that has my name on it, I like to have a lot of personal trace in it," said James, who noted he has always loved watches and is now an avid collector.

As amazing as it seems, James may not be the most high profile athlete to design a watch with Audemars Piguet. That honors goes to Lionel Messi, the best player at the world's most popular sport, who has also worked with Audemars Piguet. Other athlete partners include Keegan Bradley, Lee Westwood and Morgan Pressel.

With a new wedding band, a new watch and an NBA Finals ring on the way, this has been a memorable summer for James' jewelry collection.
