Ron Artest is considering taking a break from basketball to focus on dancing. The Lakers star, who's soon going to be known as "Metta World Peace," is negotiating with producers from "Dancing With The Stars."

TMZ reports Artest is considering an offer to compete on the hit ABC show. While the basketball player hasn't agreed to appear on the show, Artest is trying to figure out how he would juggle the NBA schedule and dance practice.

It's believed that producers for DWTS are determined enough to add Artest and other upper crust stars, they will have no practice conditions for the show.

If Artest takes the dancing gig, it would end plans to go across the pond to play basketball for either the Cheshire Jets or Glasgow Rocks of the British Basketball League.

On the court, Artest struggled with the Lakers last season, shooting just 39 percent from the floor and averaging a career low 8.5 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game.
