John Patrick Daly was born April 28, 1966.

Daly is best known for his personality, which did not mesh with the normal country-club feel of the PGA. He broke onto the scene with an improbable win at the 1991 PGA Championship.

Daly was the ninth alternate and eventually beat Bruce Lietzke for the championship.

He went onto win the British Open Championship in 1995, but made more headlines for his battle with alcoholism in the past decade.
