Donovan Mitchell has been known as Spida since he was 8, and after a rookie season with the Utah Jazz in which he won the NBA Slam Dunk contest and enjoyed a record-setting playoff performance, his nickname earned an official entry on dictionary.com Tuesday.

Mitchell joked that if he could have a real superpower, like Spider-Man, that it would be "the ability to never miss a shot" before opting for teleporting.

"That would be pretty cool, go on vacation for 20 minutes, and then come back," Mitchell said during an Adidas event in Santa Monica.

When it comes to the Spider-Man movie franchise, Mitchell cited two favorites, including the 2002 original with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

"I always loved the first one with the iconic scene of him hanging upside down and kissing Mary Jane," Mitchell said.

Then he explained why the villain Venom caught his eye. Check out the video above for more from Mitchell.
