1. Doubling back
The NBA shot a few of the dunks from Saturday night's dunk contest in high resolution super slow motion. The results are awesome all around, but JaVale McGee's double dunk stands out thanks to the angle it was shot at. And for the record, Griffin jumped over the hood. Of a Kia. Yawn.
2. Roddick-ulous
It sure is a good thing Andy Roddick married Brooklyn Decker. He used to be some no-name tennis player, and now, he's winning with incredible diving shots. I clearly need to marry a supermodel.
3. Hoops over ice
Sure, it's impressive when a hockey arena is turned into a basketball court overnight for the next night's hoops game. But it doesn't really compare to accomplishing the feat in just three hours. Bravo, Verizon Center crew. Bravo.
4. Yao's heir
There's a 16-year old, seven-foot tall basketball prodigy whipping up on teams in China. The next Chinese import could be just a few years from the draft. No word yet on how brittle he is.
5. Scorebook revival
Keeping a scorebook at a baseball game is part of the heritage of going to the ballpark. But the books aren't terribly inviting with their wide pages and gnarly wire spiral bindings. The Eephus League Baseball Scorebook Revival Project is here to make keeping score cool again.
