Many have tried and failed, but not this 12-year-old skateboarding wizard.

Tom Schaar became the first person to complete a three-rotation aerial maneuver known as the 1080. "It was the hardest trick I've ever done, but it was easier than I thought," Schaar told ESPN. Pretty impressive considering he's not even in high school yet.

Former Olympic hero Shaun White is suddenly chasing a 12-year-old.

According to ESPN.com, Schaar landed his history making trick after only a few tries while skating at an action sports camp in Tehachapi, Calif. His father, Nick, proudly said his son completed the 1080 on just his fifth attempt.

Standing at less than 5 feet and weighing in at close to 80 pounds, this sixth-grader from Malibu will have some stories to tell his buddies.
