Former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski is hoping the franchise's iconic broadcaster Hawk Harrelson will be honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame just because his acceptance speech would be pure gold.

"It will be the greatest thing on the planet," Pierzynski said during a Thuzio event in Chicago, "because there would be so many stories that no one can prove that are right or wrong that it would be awesome."

Pierzynski signed with the White Sox as a free agent in 2005 and helped the team win the World Series in his first season. He says he has known Harrelson since going to high school with Hawk's kids and that relationship played a role in his decision to join the White Sox. Check out the video above for Pierzynski's recollection of a pivotal breakfast meeting with Hawk.
