Throwback Sales By State

The folks at Mitchell And Ness have released state-by-state sales information for throwback jerseys in 2015, and Kobe Bryant remains on top of the list. But Larry Bird won the most individual states with five, as he picked up four in New England plus his home state of Indiana.

Bryant is the only active player on the list, but he qualifies because his No. 8 jersey is considered a throwback. Bryant switched to No. 24 in 2006.

Here are some other observations:

-- How does Nolan Ryan beat George Brett in Kansas?
-- Who knew Vince Carter had such a following in Oklahoma?
-- The two deceased athletes on the list (Reggie White and Ray Nitschke) each won more than one state.
-- Hockey dropped from the list after Ronnie Lott overtook Wayne Gretzky, the 2014 winner in Alaska.
-- Presidential swing states went to Bryant (Ohio) and Deion Sanders (Florida).
-- No Mickey Mantle. No Joe Montana.
