Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is perhaps the most popular man in Oakland thanks to his basketball skills. On Thursday, he took his community responsibility a step farther than the 3-point line.

With the Warriors hosting the Knicks on TNT, Curry announced he is auctioning off a pair of "Ghost Ship" shoes for Oakland Fire Relief. On Dec. 2, a fire at the Ghost Ship warehouse in Oakland killed 36 people. It was the deadliest building fire in California since the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.

Curry's tweet link directs to the Oakland Fire Relief page on YouCaring, set up by the Athletics, Warriors and Raiders (officially under the Oakland Athletics' name). The teams have committed to donating $50,000 each for every $150,000 raised. As of Friday morning, the total was at $488,102 with a goal of $500,000.

Curry also wore his own pair of "Oakland Strong" sneakers for the Warriors' 103-90 win over the Knicks.
