Craig Sager will be remembered for many things: His contribution to sports journalism, his trendy ties and sports jackets, and of course, his relationship with Gregg Popovich.
For Popovich and Sager, their relationship was a family affair. In fact, Popovich got to know Sager's son, Craig Sager II, as he interviewed Popovich while his father missed games for treatment.
When Sager II and Popovich met for the first time since Sager lost his battle with cancer, Popovich had a special gift.

Time will tell if the Basketball Hall of Fame will choose to induct Sager. Various media members have been inducted, and Sager’s passion and commitment to the game certainly makes him worthy of the recognition. Regardless, Hall of Fame or not, classy move from Popovich.
