Like many NHL teams, the Islanders display a hefty dose of facial hair. But the Isles' new friends are even furrier.
Brooklyn's hockey team released its 2017 "Pucks and Paws" calendar Friday. The franchise paired with North Shore Animal League America, the world's largest no kill rescue and adoption center, to take 12 months-worth of cute photos featuring the players and rescue dogs.
Here are some teasers from the inside:

The photo shoot took place during two days in October and all of the canines included in the calendar have since been adopted. One puppy was even adopted by Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan on the spot.
The Islanders unveiled the calendar in the Empire State Building on Nov. 16 with ThePostGame in attendance. De Haan and teammates Nick Leddy and Thomas Greiss talked puppies on Facebook Live:

On Black Friday, the calendar became available to the general public on the Islanders and North Shore Animal League America's websites.
