Athletic opportunities for girls in the United States have exploded in the past 40 years. More sports are being offered, and participation continues to grow.
The exception is baseball.
Although some girls play baseball at the youth level, such as Little League, there aren't teams for them in high school and college in the same way as basketball, soccer and tennis. What accounts for this? HBO's Real Sports examines this issue in its latest edition, which premieres at 10 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday September 24.
