Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo, a consensus top-two soccer player in the world, along with Lionel Messi, showed off his baseball arm Wednesday morning. He threw a TV reporter’s microphone in the lake outside his hotel in Lyon, France.

The Real Madrid star has underwhelmed so far in this summer's European Championships. He did not score in either of Portugal's first two games against Iceland and Austria, missing a penalty shot in the 78th minute of the latter.

Correio da Manhã TV (CMTV) is a Portuguese news channel launched in March 2013. The reporter asked the Portuguese captain if he was ready for their upcoming must-win contest versus Hungary (Portugal advances through the group stage with a win and would need help with a draw). Ronaldo's reaction to the seemingly innocuous question appears to be an overreaction, however, there is a backstory between CMTV and the star forward.

Ronaldo previously sued the privately-owned news channel for invasion of privacy and won. Since 2014, Ronaldo has boycotted the channel, reportedly for inappropriate treatment toward his family and himself.
