Arian Foster

Arian Foster was born August 24, 1986.

Coming out of Tennessee, Arian Foster wasn't seen as an NFL running back. A habit of fumbling the football was a partial-cause of Foster going unselected in the NFL draft, even though he was projected as a fifth- or sixth-round pick.

Instead, Foster found a spot on the Houston Texans' practice squad during the 2009 season. In November of that year, he was moved up to the active roster -- and he would stay.

In 2010, Foster went from a virtual nobody to an instant star. He began a run of making the Pro Bowl four times in a five-year span, and in 2010 he was named a first-team All-Pro player. He was also named the Most Improved Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers' Association.

The only mark against Foster's productive run with the Texans has been his tendency to get injured. After totaling 1,424 yards in 2012, injuries limited Foster to just 542 yards in 2013.

In 2015, he enters the final year of his contract with the Texans, and uncertainty looms about his future -- whether Houston will offer another long-term contract or bet instead that Foster's best days are behind him.
