April 26, 2003: The Minnesota Vikings fall from No. 7 to No. 9 in the draft order after allotted 15-minute window for a pick ended.

The Vikings were apparently trying to work a trade during their time, but when Minnesota failed to make a pick before time expired, the Jacksonville Jaguars were ready and made their pick quickly.

The Jaguars took quarterback Byron Leftwich. Minnesota still wasn't ready, and the Carolina Panthers took offensive tackle Jordan Gross before the Vikings got to pick defensive tackle Kevin Williams.
