Troy Aumua Polamalu was born April 19, 1981.

He played all of his 12 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, racking up 770 tackles, 32 interceptions, 12 sacks and 14 forced fumbles. He made it to eight Pro Bowls and won NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2010.

The Steelers also won two Super Bowls behind what was one of the strongest defenses in the league. In the process, Polamalu became one of the faces of the NFL.

Polamalu announced his retirement April 10.
