Ozzie Newsome Jr. was born March 16, 1956.

As a college player, Newsome was Alabama's player of the decade for the 1970s. He was a first-round pick of the Browns in 1978 and played all 13 of his NFL seasons for Cleveland. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.

As an executive, Newsome has won two Super Bowl championships with the Baltimore Ravens. Newsome became the NFL's first African-American general manager in 2002.
