When Mike Rice was fired after the release of an outrageous video in which he abuses and berates his players at practice, the last place one would expect him to be working is a youth league.

Yet, according to a report, that is exactly where Rice -- whose behavior at Rutgers included physical abuse of players and use of homophobic slurs -- is prowling the sidelines.

Brian Geltzeiler, founder of the website Hoopscritic.com, tweeted about a spotting of the former basketball Rutgers coach this weekend at Rice's 12-year-old daughter's AAU game.

According to several reports, including one from the The Asbury Park Press, Rice had been coaching his daughter's team before he was fired by Rutgers.

Although Deadspin described Rice's antics in the youth league as "f------ insane," parents of girls on the team support Rice, according to other reports.

"The Deadspin report is a gross misrepresentation of the facts," a source close to the AAU team told SNY.tv. "The team's parents are fully behind Coach Rice and his instruction of their daughters."

The Asbury Park Press reported that "parents of girls on the AAU team pushed back via Twitter after the report broke Sunday night, defending Rice and claiming distortion on the part of the Deadspin contributor."
