Sarah Crilly was in the right place at the right time last week, and her good fortune paid off.

Crilly, a 20-year-old who plays for the Hamilton Academical club team in Scotland, was waiting on some tea during halftime of last week's Scotland-Norway friendly when she got an urgent request from the Scottish side. The Scots had been depleted by injury, and they needed another player. Crilly trained with the team the day before, so they figured she was a logical choice. The only problem? Crilly didn't have any equipment.

No matter. Crilly was fitted with a jersey and some oversized shorts. She borrowed a pair of shoes which were two sizes too big, so she had to wear three pairs of socks. But the move paid off. In the 78th minute, Crilly scored the game-tying goal, helping Scotland pull even with favored Norway.

"I was there for a day out with my pals — next thing I know I’m stepping on the park," Crilly told the Scottish Sun "It was crazy."

Next time, maybe Crilly can start the game on the field.
