As the old saying goes, giving your son a skill is better than giving him one thousand pieces of gold.

Hall of Famer Bob Knight's son has not only picked up his old man's coaching talents, but more importantly, his ability to boil over with the reporters.

Pat Knight, the head basketball coach at Lamar University, went off on the sorry state of his basketball program following a 62-52 loss to Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday night. In more than eight minutes of magic, Knight began by ripping his senior players' bad attitude on the court and in the classroom. The Cardinals have a winning record at 17-11 on the season, but they aren't very good in their coaches eyes.

Furthermore, he ranted about his players not being held accountable for their poor play and that they were stealing scholarship money.

He also called his players "tin men" who lack heart, and went as far as saying they would be homeless and without a job with this attitude in the real world.

Like father, like son.

Knight, 41, coached at Texas Tech prior to being named the head coach at Lamar in April 2011. He played for his famous father at Indiana and graduated in 1995 with a degree in sports management.

Fox Sports Houston points out Pat Knight's rant took place nearly 27 years to the day his father tossed a chair at Indiana during a game Purdue (Feb. 23, 1985).

It all began when the younger Knight couldn't wait for Mike James, his senior guard, to finish chatting with reporters. The Lamar coach stepped in while James was answering a question and said, "All right, let's go, I'm next, 'cause you don't have a clue of what it takes to win."
