Tuesday night was horrid for Washington D.C. sports fans. The Capitals, who won this season's Presidents' Trophy with a league-high 120 points, were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The rival Penguins won Game 6, 4-3 in overtime.
One D.C. sportscaster took things extra hard. Michael Jenkins of CSN Mid-Atlantic reported the news with a drink in hand.
Oh, boy. Jenkins just bashed in the dreams of D.C. kids. And maybe Ovechkin's dreams, too. You can't do what you set your mind to.
That drink sure looks like iced coffee, so this could be a big joke. Or it could be Irish iced coffee. Jenkins refers to himself as a "Bourbon lover" in his Twitter description.
Maybe next year, Washington?
