A complex is one of my favorite metabolic conditioning weapons.

It works like this: You perform a series of exercises back-to-back with zero rest -- and you never put down the weight. It's one of the best ways to burn fat fast and pack a ton of work into a short amount of time.

The complex shown in the video above is comprised of 6 movements that you do for 3 total minutes. Repeat up to 5 times.

Since you're working for 5 to 10 times longer than a normal working set at the gym, the oxygen demands are off the charts. After just one round, your metabolism will go through the roof.

To help you manage fatigue throughout the workout, I chose unilateral -- one-sided -- exercises for this complex. Once one side starts to get tired, you get to switch sides. This lets you work harder for longer bouts.

But fair warning: Your abs are going to burn! That's because unilateral moves instantly increase stabilization demands on your core. Holding the weight in one hand forces your abs on the opposite side to work overtime.
