Mean Joe Greene

More than 36 years ago, a nine-year-old Tommy Okon gave "Mean" Joe Greene a Coca-Cola, and Greene thanked him by tossing a game-worn jersey. The commercial has stood the test of time as a classic in advertising.

A film crew reunited a grown-up Okon and Greene at Apogee Stadium in Denton, Texas. The duo picked up where they left off in an NFL locker room in 1979.

Okon is no longer an innocent kid, and "Mean" Joe looks more like a jocular grandpa. Greene gives Okon credit for the commercial's success, while Okon acknowledges the writers.

Apparently Greene drank 18 cokes to get the ad right.

Okon and Greene's Clio Award-winning commercial first aired in October 1979, and it was replayed for Super Bowl XIV in 1980. The clip will re-air as part of an upcoming CBS special, Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials 2016.
