Despite many critics and opponents, The Wave has remained an integral part of many sports events, with fans seemingly determined to make it the most frustrating and ceaseless part of attending games in-person.
Now those fans have gained a new opponent: Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who took time after Tuesday night's game to throw some shade at the silly fan activity.
Very happy we won....but I want the name and address of the person who started the "Wave" tonight. #banthewave #resisttheurge

Syndergaard's tweet comes just a couple of days after SNY published a video in which Syndergaard laid out some key rules for watching a Mets game at the ballpark.
Yes, The Wave is addressed:
Beyond being utterly useless and relatively unfulfilling, The Wave is distracting for some fans, and does nothing to create a hostile, energetic environment. So how about listening to Mr. Syndergaard and finding a better use of your time?
