Ronda Rousey hasn't fought since losing for the first time back on November 14, 2015, to Holly Holm, but she continues to have wide commercial appeal. In the meantime, Rousey has done spots for Reebok, Metro PCS and Bud Light.
In advance of her return to the octagon for UFC 207 on December 30 against bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, Rousey is featured in a new campaign for Pantene. The premise is a modern twist on Pantene's catchphrase from the 80s -- "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" -- which actress/model Kelly Le Brock helped popularize.
Rousey's message is twofold: "Don't hate me because I'm strong” and "Strong is beautiful."
"I called all my sisters because we used to literally go to war over conditioner, and I was like, 'Conditioner forever for everyone!'" Rousey said to Vogue about her reaction to getting this endorsement contract. "Then I was just super-stoked: 'Wow, I've got Pantene-level hair!' I felt very proud."
Other recent spokeswomen for Pantene include Gisele Bundchen, Selena Gomez and Eva Longoria.
