His Airness' casting choice to be his heir apparent in Space Jam 2 is different than what the producers have in mind.

After years of rumors about a sequel to the 1995 film starring Michael Jordan, featuring Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues and Bugs Bunny, plans were confirmed this spring. The story, broken by The Hollywood Reporter, said that LeBron James would be the star.

But Jordan told a group of basketball campers and spectators that his first choice would be Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Griffin may not be the common choice among fans, but he has an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand. Last year, to promote the release of Griffin's latest signature sneaker, Jordan Brand released a video featuring Blake and one of the characters from the original Space Jam, Marvin The Martian:

In fact, the color scheme of the shoe was a tribute to Marvin The Martian.
