Lightning Storm

No one gets struck by lightning twice. But if you're a football stadium, you aren't afforded the same luxury.

A video post to Facebook by a local meteorologist shows Bank of America stadium, the home of the NFC champion Carolina Panthers, getting blasted by a series of bolts during a storm earlier this week.

The shower of lightning came at rush hour, no doubt entertaining the people stuck in heavy traffic.

If there's anything to be learned from this, it's that the lightning policies of outdoor stadiums are not to be dismissed. Even though this stadium is well shorter than nearby buildings in downtown Charlotte, the lightning locked in on the football field and dealt it a heavy dose of Mother Nature.

As a lightning bolt may say, it had its ion the stadium. What, you don't care for electricity humor?
