On Saturday, Notre Dame defeated Boston College 19-16 in the Shamrock Series. Rather than turn Fenway Park back into a baseball diamond right away, the venue left the field for another sport: hurling.
Irish clubs Galway and Dublin made the trip across the pond for the inaugural Fenway Classic, attended by nearly 30,000 fans. Galway won the Sunday match, 50-47, but the score was overshadowed by a brawl.

It had been 61 years since Fenway hosted a hurling match.
And it had been 12 years since Fenway saw a brawl that rowdy (see: Martinez, Pedro).
