Chase Utley

Let's bring you up to speed: Dodgers infielder Chase Utley committed a borderline illegal slide into second base during Game 2 of the NLDS against the Mets. The slide broke the fibula of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada and helped the Dodgers win the game. Utley was subsequently suspended two games, but an appeal allowed him to dress for Game 3.

Here are some of the best (and worst) Chase Utley signs at Citi Field on Monday Night:

Aw, that is cute. But they were not all like this.

This girl actually has a story. The New York Post met up with the sign-bearer, Ashleigh Culpepper, a 22-year-old North Carolina native living in Manhattan.

"My guess is ISIS doesn't want to be associated with Chase Utley," Culpepper told the Post, also noting that Utley is her "least favorite player ever."

There were more humane signs.

And then there was one just absolutely terrible, gross, pathetic sign behind the Mets' SNY Postgame Show. The ISIS sign was bad, but this is worse.

It was fun for a while, but then Mets fans took it too far. What ever happened to saying someone listens Nickelback and calling it a day?

Here is Citi Field's welcome to Chase Utley during introductions:

The Mets won 13-7 and Utley never entered the game. New York leads the series 2-1 and hosts Game 4 on Tuesday night.
