Generally speaking, most team promotions are predictable and easily duplicated.

If you live in a major sports city, you’re likely inundated with the same highlight reels layered with graphics and voiceovers about season ticket packages, “Two Dollar Tuesdays” and “Thirsty Thursdays.”

Yawn.

But the boring don't-miss-a-moment-this-season routine makes the Seattle Mariners' approach all the more remarkable.

M's fans have had their ups and downs the past 12 years. They’ve had a team with the best record in American League history, and they’ve also had five fourth-place finishes in the AL West. They’ve had multiple managers and general managers. They've had fading and rising stars. Two things have remained constant over that time, though: Ichiro Suzuki and a series of promotional shorts that have gotten better each of the last several years.

This year’s batch is no exception.

The star of the best Seattle commercials is always Felix Hernandez ...

... and Ichiro ...

... and they happen to be the players who also consistently deliver the most on the field. Go figure. Nice work to Mariners’ VP of Marketing Kevin Martinez and his team for constantly pushing the envelope. Now we'll see if these thespians can push their way into playoff contention.
