Gregg Popovich, Craig Sager

Among all the great tributes to Craig Sager that started rolling in shorty after news of his death broke Thursday, the one with the most depth and detail about his fight against cancer might be a feature you have already seen. HBO's Real Sports profiled Sager in an episode that premiered in March, and it just released the full segment online.

It follows Sager in those moments when he is far away from the media spotlight as he endures painful chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant from his son. After being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2014, Sager battled to get back on the job as the NBA on TNT's sideline reporter, and he says those assignments were the best.

"When you're here, you totally forget that your platelets are low and your blood count's down and you need to have another bone-marrow biopsy on Monday and you're going to have more cancer treatment," Sager tells Real Sports correspondent Bernard Goldberg of being the arena. "All that's gone."
