Leah Still

Leah Still's nightmare is finally over, and the light ahead could not be any brighter.

Leah, the daughter of NFL defensive tackle Devon Still, entered the hospital for her final treatment last Friday. She was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4 cancer in June 2014.

Late Monday night, while most football fans were glued to the end of the college football national championship game, Devon sat through the last few hours of his daughter's drawn-out fight for her life.

And then this morning:

Leah and Devon's story has taken them through paths neither expected to navigate. Devon spent his 2014 season running back and forth between the Bengals and his daughter's cancer treatments. Last summer, the father and daughter received the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the ESPY awards.

After a year and a half, the stress is finally lifted. Not only is Leah putting the dagger in cancer, but her father has a new NFL job lined up for 2016 (he did not play in 2015 after getting waived by the Bengals on Sept. 5). Last Wednesday, he signed a reserve futures contract with the Houston Texans.
