Austin Rivers was born August 1, 1992.

After one season at Duke, Rivers went to the Hornets as the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. Paired with No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis, Rivers was projected to be a franchise building block. But during the 2014-15 season, Rivers was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team deal with the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns.

The trade raised some eyebrows because the Clippers coach is Doc Rivers, Austin's dad. With the Clippers, Austin's most notable games came during the Western Conference semifinals against Houston when Chris Paul was injured. Rivers guided the Clippers to a blowout win in Game 1 when he started in place of Paul. Then he scored 25 points off the bench in another rout in Game 3.

Rivers signed a two-year, $6.4 million contract this offseason to stay with the Clippers.
