Darrelle Revis was born July 14, 1985.

Revis was twice first team All-Big East as a cornerback at Pittsburgh. The Jets drafted him in the first round in 2007.

Revis was the first rookie since Ray Mickens (1996) to start at cornerback for the Jets. He played all 16 games, and had 87 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and three interceptions.

In 2008, Revis was selected to his first Pro Bowl.

Revis broke out even further the following season, earning a reputation as one of the best lockdown corners in the league. He received the second most votes for Defensive Player of the Year, behindCharles Woodson.

He faced the opposing team's best wideout on a weekly basis and gained the nickname "Revis Island."

Revis tore his ACL in the beginning of the 2012 season, and was placed on on injured reserve. In the following offseason the Jets traded Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a first-round draft choice and conditional pick.

He played one season with the Buccaneers before he was released and subsequently picked up by the New England Patriots.

In his only season with the Patriots, Revis won Super Bowl XLIX.

This offseason (2015) Revis signed a five-year, $70-million contract with the New York Jets.

Throughout his eight seasons in the NFL, Revis has made six Pro Bowls and first team All-Pro four times.
