June 23, 2005: Tim Duncan receives the NBA Finals MVP as the Spurs secure the championship by beating the Pistons 81-74 in Game 7.

This was the third of five titles (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014) that the Spurs won under coach Gregg Popovich.

Game 7 was a tightly contested affair, until the Pistons took a nine-point lead halfway through the third quarter. At this point, like true legends do, Duncan carried his team out of the hole, tying the game up by the start of the fourth.

Manu Ginobili and Duncan executed made some clutch plays down the stretch, and the Spurs denied the Pistons a repeat championship.

Duncan finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
