Genuine Risk beat favorite Rockhill Native to become the first filly to win the race since Regret in 1915. Only Winning Colors (1988) has accomplished the feat since.

Genuine Risk finished second in the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, becoming the first filly to finish in the money in all Triple Crown three races.
