May 4, 1994: Charles Barkley scores 56 points to lead the Suns to a 140-133 win at Golden State to complete a sweep of the first-round playoff series.

Barkley sets an NBA playoff record with 38 first-half points.

For the game, Barkley shoots 23 of 31 from the field. He also records 14 rebounds, four assists, three steals and a blocked shot.

After Barkey got off a hot start, he asked Golden State coach Don Nelson if the Warriors were going to double-team him. The Warriors stayed with the strategy of playing Barkley one-on-one and actually took a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
