April 15, 2005: The Washington Nationals open the 2005 season against the Arizona Diamondbacks, marking the first MLB game played in Washington D.C. since 1971.

The Nationals, formerly the Expos, played at RFK Stadium in front of 45,596 fans. They beat the Diamondbacks, 5-3, and swept the four-game series.

The Nationals played at RFK Stadium until 2008, when they moved to Nationals Park.
