Current Seattle Mariners ace Félix Hernández was born on April 8, 1986.

Known as "King Felix" for his dominance as a starting pitcher, Hernández has had an impressive career since entering Major League Baseball in 2005. The five-time All-Star won the AL Cy Young Award in 2010 and has twice led the American League in ERA.

His career highlight came on August 15, 2012, when he threw a perfect game -- just the 23rd ever recorded at that time, leading his team to a 1-0 victory.

The native of Venezuela is known for deploying an array of pitches, which keeps batters guessing and creates a challenge in knowing how to approach him at the plate.
