Dale Hawerchuk was born April 4, 1963.

Hawerchuk scored 518 goals and tallied 891 assists in his 16-year NHL career. He ranks 19th all-time in points, behind stars like Brett Hull and Mike Modano.

Hawerchuk was picked first overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1981 NHL draft. He quickly found stardom, becoming the youngest player to reach 100 points in season, a record since broken by Sidney Crosby.

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.

He was honored by the Phoenix Coyotes, previously the Jets franchise, in 2007.
