March 7, 2001: The Phoenix Suns hold a ceremony to retire Kevin Johnson's No. 7 jersey. He became the seventh player in franchise history to get the honor.

Johnson averaged 17.9 points and dished out 6,711 assists in his 14-year career, 10 of which he played with the Suns. He ranks 19th all-time in assists.

He was part of the Dream Team that won gold for the U.S. at the 1994 World Championships.

Johnson went into politics shortly after his career ended and now serves as mayor of Sacramento.
