Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Hammon was born March 11, 1977.

Hammon began her WNBA and NWBL career in 2003 and retired in 2014. She became just the seventh player to hit 5,000 points in her career in 2011.

She also won two Olympic medals; gold with the United States in 1998 and bronze with Russia in 2008, after she became a Russian citizen so she could compete.

However. she's in headlines today for making NBA history.

The feat earned her ESPNW Woman of the Year honors for 2014.
