Catherine Michelle Granato was born March 25, 1971.

Granato was the captain of the U.S. hockey team that won the gold medal at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

She also won a silver medal in 2002. In 2010, she was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

One of her older brothers, Tony Granato, played 13 NHL seasons with the Rangers, Kings and Sharks. Her husband is former NHL player Ray Ferraro.
