In just another example of life imitating art (or is it the other way around?), Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman borrowed a hilarious style cue from actor Ryan Gosling.

Edelman has been wearing a shirt with an image of a shirtless Rob Gronkowski on it.

The shirt appears to be an homage to a piece of clothing worn by the actor. Gosling recently stepped out in a shirt with a large photograph of Macaulay Culkin, and Culkin responded by creating a top with a photograph of Gosling wearing his image.

Still with us? If not, this picture should help explain:

Not only did Edelman borrow Gosling's shirt idea, he actually kind of looks like the actor in this photo.

Edelman and Gronkowski, both drafted by the Patriots, have been teammates since 2010. With Gronkowski missing most of 2013 due to injuries, Edelman stepped up and produced the most productive season of his career. The 5-foot-10 receiver recorded career highs in receptions (105), receiving yards (1,056) and touchdowns (6).

Gronkowski, who celebrated his 25th birthday on May 14, has yet to respond.
