One Las Vegas bettor must have eaten his Lucky Charms last Saturday.
According to Vegas Insider, one bettor wagered $2,000 that Texas State would beat Houston last weekend. Not only were the Bobcats playing their first Division-I game, they were 34.5-point underdogs. The Cougars were such huge favorites that few sports books even offered a line on the game.
Nevertheless, this extremely lucky and/or unbelievably savvy person bet that Texas State would outright beat Houston at 60/1 odds. And after the Bobcats finished off their 30-13 victory, this bettor was $120,000 richer.
Pregame.com notes that Texas State was the first team to go into a game as at least 34-point underdogs and win by double digits. Someone tell that bettor to buy a lottery ticket.
