When Kevin Durant received the NBA MVP award in May, he got very emotional during his acceptance speech. At one point, Durant even said, "Why am I crying so much?"
Durant wasn't the only one to get teary-eyed during the ceremony. He thanked teammates individually and then gave a special tribute to his mother. As she sat in the first row, Durant called her "the real MVP" for her work and sacrifice as a single mom to keep the family fed. Even some reporters covering the event got a little misty.
Durant got in touch with his emotions again Tuesday when he connected with fans on Twitter.

Durant also showed he has a sense of humor about it.

But don't mistake his sensitivity with softness. Consider this exchange with a fan who dissed Durant's haircut.
