Next time the Detroit Pistons make a personnel move, they may want to notify their players before the news breaks.
The Pistons, who have stumbled out to a disappointing 21-29 record this year, fired first-year coach Maurice Cheeks on Sunday. Apparently that was news to several of the team's players.
Both Brandon Jennings and Charlie Villanueva appeared to find out about the firing on Twitter.
Wait what

Is it true?

Well, that's awkward. While the move didn't come as a total surprise, apparently Jennings and Villanueva weren't expecting the ax to fall. And they may not be the only Pistons players to find out via Twitter, but they appear to be the only two to tweet about it.
After expressing their initial surprise, both players followed up their tweets with classy messages.
We must stay strong. This is part of the game. Must stay focus and keep playoff in mind. We are a talented team, one game at a time.

I will like to thank Mo Cheeks for everything, thank you for helping me become a better person & player. I'm still learning
